Sophie BORNECK is a self-taught painter from France and currently living in New Caledonia. Since 2016, following her first exhibition, she has been painting, memories, like a personal diary upon which she weaves her Mitochondries, organic patterns, replicated infinitely.
Sophie BORNECK has a passion for her Mitochondries which she shares through her artworks. Since 2019, her work has started to travel outside of New Caledonia and she has exhibited in Barcelona for the BIG AWARDS competition, in Tokyo for the SHIBUYA STATION EXHIBITION and for a solo exhibition at Design Festa Gallery, also in Tokyo. She also gave a TEDx talk in Nouméa in 2020 to share her obsession. Her work is characterized by her Mitochondries, the use of acrylic paints with bright and intense colors reflecting her memories and emotions frozen in time, and Indian ink, meticulously applied, animating the accumulation of juxtaposed cells. She also likes to experiment with new materials and techniques to create artworks that are both unique and similar, always covered by her Mitochondries.
Sophie BORNECK is an inspired artist who expresses her emotions and memories through her art. Thanks to her obsession, her work is now visible in some places around the world. She continues to share her passion for her Mitochondries and to be inspired by everything to embark on the exploration of her creativity.
Sophie BORNECK est une artiste peintre autodidacte originaire de France et vivant aujourd’hui en Nouvelle Calédonie. Depuis 2016, suite à sa première exposition, elle peint, des souvenirs, comme un journal intime sur lesquels elle tisse ses Mitochondries, des motifs organiques, répliqués à l’infini.
Sophie BORNECK a une passion pour ses Mitochondries qu’elle partage à travers ses œuvres. Depuis 2019, son travail commence à voyager en dehors de la Nouvelle Calédonie et elle expose à Barcelone lors du concours BIG AWARDS, à Tokyo lors de l’exposition SHIBUYA STATION EXHIBITION et pour une exposition personnelle à Design Festa Gallery toujours à Tokyo. Elle a également présenté une conférence TEDx à Nouméa en 2020 pour partager son obsession. Son travail est caractérisé par ses Mitochondries, l’utilisation de l’acrylique, aux couleurs vives et intenses reflétant ses souvenirs et ses émotions figées, et l’encre de Chine, minutieusement appliquée, animant l’accumulation des cellules juxtaposées. Elle aime également expérimenter de nouveaux matériaux et techniques pour créer des œuvres qui sont à la fois uniques et semblables, car toujours recouverte de ses Mitochondries.
Sophie BORNECK est une artiste inspirée qui exprime ses émotions et ses souvenirs à travers son art. Grâce à son obsession, son travail est maintenant visible à quelques endroits dans le monde. Elle continue à partager sa passion pour ses Mitochondries et à s’inspirer de tout pour se lancer dans l’exploration de sa créativité.

Sophie Borneck pursues a creative and multidisciplinary approach by using a unique technique that she systematically applies to all her artworks. A technique of covering and repetition with the will to obtain an almost millimeter aesthetic rendering, a work of rhythm and sequencing where the infinitely small becomes infinitely harmonious.
Yayoi Kusama has really left her mark on Sophie Borneck’s artistic research, her use of shapes, repetitive motifs, accumulation and infinity, just like the artists Vassily Kandinsky, Robert and Sonia Delaunay, Arman, Takashi Murakami, Abie Loy Kemarre, Verner Panton, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Keith Haring, Marc Chagall, due to their use of color but also for some accumulation and work in series.
Sophie Borneck engage une démarche créative pluridisciplinaire en ayant recourt à une technique qui lui est propre qu’elle applique systématiquement à toutes ses oeuvres. Une technique de recouvrement et de répétition avec la volonté d’obtenir un rendu esthétique quasi-millimétré, un travail de rythme et de séquençage où l’infiniment petit devient infiniment harmonieux.
