GÉODATA is research and creation project marks a decisive step in Sophie Borneck’s artistic journey, expanding her painting practice into the exploration of clay and ceramics. Through the study of raw materials, imprints, geological layers, and firing-induced transformations, the artist develops a sensitive reflection on the relationships between memory, transformation, and the energy of living systems. Supported by the French State Creative Grant (Aide à la création artistique), this residency enables her to integrate chance and entropic phenomena into the core of her creative process, enriching her artistic language with a new mineral and sculptural dimension.
