– MITOCHONDRIA –

The Universe is a Loop. Everything repeats, transforms, returns in another form. Since 2015, through the Mitochondries series, I have been diving into this infinite cycle. I paint to hold onto memories, to capture an instant, a sensation that vanishes the moment it appears. Memory is not a fixed image. It is unstable, vibrant, like a living organism, it breathes, fragments, and reconfigures itself.

Mitochondria have become my motif, my obsession. These microscopic engines, invisible to the naked eye yet essential to life, are capsules of energy, time archives hidden deep within our cells. They fascinate me with their ability to carry history while generating movement. Painting mitochondria means entering their rhythm, their breath. It means giving form to the invisible, capturing what circulates within us without ever stopping.

My creative process follows a three-part pulse. First, color : intuitive, it spreads across the canvas like the vibration of a memory, a fragment of emotion. Then, black inK : it traces a grid, a structure, a visual skeleton that pulses on the skin of remembrance. Finally, the points : suspended nuclei, omnipresent eyes, animating the whole, infusing energy, giving each cell its own breath.

Repeating, repeating, repeating until the material comes to life, until memory becomes sensation. Initially abstract, my painting gradually moves toward a fleeting figuration of nature, a writing of the living in transformation, an attempt to grasp the ephemeral. The Mitochondries series is a dialogue with time, a cartography of memory, and a sensitive resonance with nature.

My mitochondria create the boundary between the visible and the invisible, between frozen memory and what remains alive. It is not merely a motif; it is a language, an alphabet of the living, a biology of memory imbued with impermanence, the contemplation of the ephemeral, and the perception of the fragile beauty of things that silently permeates my canvases.
